PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Architecture or BSc (Hons) Arch programme is a full-time study for 3-4 years, depending on the candidate’s qualification at the point of entry. It is the first of a two-tier architectural education programme offered at UiTM. The curriculum is oriented to produce graduates with design and architectural technology skills at a semi-professional level.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entrants into the BSc (Arch) programme are at three levels, depending on the candidate’s qualification.
- Candidates with SPM qualification
- Candidates with Matriculation/STPM qualification
- Candidate with Diploma in relevant fields

Candidates with SPM qualification
Qualify UiTM minimum entry requirements for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM). Also attained a credit grade in English Language and at least a minimum grade of 4B in three subjects within the following groups:
•    Physics/Chemistry/Additional Science/Science
•    Mathematics/Additional Mathematics
•    Geography/History/Visual Arts/Technical Drawing/Design/Geometric Drawing and Building Construction
•    Candidates with Matriculations/STPM and Diploma in relevant fields

Career Opportunities
Graduates of the programme have the opportunity to serve the public and private sectors. Graduates may work as an architect’s technical assistant or designer in the private sector or as development officers in the public sector.

ACCREDITATION

Accreditation
This programme is accredited by the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) with exemptions from LAM Part 1 Examination and the Public Service Department Malaysia (JPA). The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has successfully validated this programme for Part 1.
